LANSING – State Representative Jeff Mayes (D-Bay City) will hold an informational town hall meeting on Monday, June 22, to discuss energy efficiency strategies and tax credits available to homeowners and businesses. Mayes, Chair of the House Energy and Technology Committee, has made it a priority to work with utilities in order to help consumers save money.
"I'm excited about Michigan's energy future and I want to make sure residents can take advantage of the many opportunities available to them to save money," Mayes said. "There are a number of tax breaks offered for weatherization and energy efficiency renewable projects that will help consumers save significantly on their electric bill. I encourage residents who are looking to save a few extra bucks on their utility payments to attend this informational meeting."
The town hall meeting will be held on Monday, June 22, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Bangor Township Hall Board Room in Bay City.
Mayes will be joined at the meeting by Tom Begin, the Community Services Regional Manager for Consumers Energy and Liesl Clark, Deputy Director of Energy at the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth (DELEG).
