TRENTON — State Rep. Cara Clemente (D-Lincoln Park) was joined by Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12), state Rep. Darrin Camilleri (D-Brownstown Township) and officials from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) this morning for a tour of the McLouth Steel Plant in Trenton. The site has been closed since 1995 and was recently sold to Crown Enterprises, who are charged with demolishing the buildings on the property and beginning environmental cleanup overseen by the EPA and EGLE. Following the tour, Rep. Clemente released the following statement:

“Touring the McLouth site today, I was excited to see the progress being made on the property and the effective collaboration between all parties involved in the clean-up process. I look forward to seeing these great strides continue in this important area of the Downriver community without any further interruptions.”
