City of Davison Awarded MDEQ Source Water Protection Grant
CLIO — Today, state Rep. Pam Faris (D-Clio) celebrated the announcement that the city of Davison was chosen to receive a Source Water Protection grant from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) to fund much-needed surface and wellhead protection projects. Davison was one of 42 communities across the state to receive the grant to safeguard public water supply systems.
“The people of Davison can rest easier tonight knowing that this grant will provide critical funding for projects that will keep their drinking water safe,” said Faris. “With so many health crises facing Michigan residents as a result of contaminated water, I’m glad to see that Davison is finally receiving some good news.”
Under the grant program, communities relying on surface or well water will define the source locations of that drinking water, identify potential contaminants and implement management and educational activities to protect their vital water supplies.
